yang-yin

life’s a half-crazed, wildeyed thriveling

her pupils tremble and dilate

in a dream she seems

to walk along the cornstalks

eating ryebread

she thumbs seeds

into the sand

.

death’s a half-sane, disconnection spanning

his non-claws don’t click,

constantly cleaving

he saunters along the concrete

with a smile but no plan

eats nothing and drags

life by the hair

aspect

no two nebulae
wake simultaneous
the sheathed hibiscus
maddeningly blooms
(you’re passion flowers
and i’m a dumb goat)

one seamless caffeine
dream bleeds into
my white nighttime
a cloud soaks by like
a soggy napkin

god makes brand new stars
in universes
that we never glimpse
except when we think
and your old saturn
growls to complete stop
just outside my house

i’m under your love
when you swing around
like one cool comet
well yeah come collide

Oh no, no – I know his set:
A man who’s managed
To miss every single solar
And every lunar eclipse
A guy who’s great with kids
But can’t handle pets
(I guess because they’re animals)
He tests my suspension bridge
Every time he goes off script
And I can tell when he wants to:
He swings out from behind his irises
And here comes this thing he has to say
